Fala Research Technical Report FR-2026-01, The Ask Gap, reviews 41 sources on voice versus text on websites. In the only like-for-like production comparison (the same AI agent in voice mode and text mode on live sites for 13 weeks), attention was a tie but voice captured 1.8x the emails and booked 7.4x the meetings. Speaking is 2.9x faster than typing on a phone. Modelled lift: up to 2x for lead capture, widening with the size of the ask.
